Which calendars work with Unmissably?
Google Calendar through OAuth 2.0 (read-only) and Apple Calendar through macOS EventKit. You can connect multiple accounts and pick which calendars to watch.
Which meeting services does it detect?
Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Whereby, and any standard HTTPS meeting link found in the event notes, description, or invite fields. The link parser handles the most common patterns automatically.
Does Unmissably send my calendar data anywhere?
No. Calendar data is processed locally on your Mac and cached in a SQLite database. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party server. The only network traffic is the Google Calendar API and OAuth token refresh when a Google account is connected.
Why a full-screen overlay instead of a notification?
Notifications get lost. Slack DMs, IDE focus, a video you forgot was playing all bury the macOS notification center. A full-screen overlay on every display cannot be missed, which is the entire point.
Can I snooze, dismiss, or silence the alert?
Yes. Every overlay has Join, Snooze, and Dismiss. Focus mode silences overlays entirely during deep work.
Does it work across multiple monitors?
Yes. The overlay shows on every connected display, including external monitors, so you see it no matter where your attention is.
Does Unmissably need internet access?
Only to sync Google Calendar events. Once events are cached, the menu bar countdown and overlays work offline. Apple Calendar works fully offline because EventKit is local.
Which macOS versions are supported?
macOS 15 Sequoia and later. Apple Silicon and Intel Macs are both supported.
Is the app signed and notarized?
Yes. The shipping build is signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple. The Mac App Store version also passes App Review.
How are my OAuth tokens stored?
Google OAuth access and refresh tokens live in the macOS Keychain, protected by your system credentials. Disconnecting the account or uninstalling the app removes them.
Can I use Unmissably without a Google account?
Yes. Apple Calendar alone is enough. Every feature works with either calendar source. Google integration is optional.
Does it show up in the dock?
No. Unmissably is a menu bar utility. There is no dock icon, and no app window opens by default.
